9/16/23 – Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. LSU Tigers

Well this is a contest that was an absolute disaster in 2022 and absolutely shouldn’t have been. In a game that at one point appeared ripe for Miss. State to steal on the road from the Tigers, mistakes, a mess of a special teams situation, and an offense that stopped performing doomed the Bulldogs.

Now this game is back in Starkville and Mississippi State football fans will want a rare upset of the Tigers to make up for last season’s mess.

MSU’s 9-4 season last year is something to be proud of. But it could have been better. Of course, a rare win over LSU is something that would do a lot to make next season even more impressive.

Here’s to hoping that that happens. I’m not overly optimistic that it will. And it appears that ESPN’s FPI predictions kind of agree with me.
