11/23/23 – Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Ole Miss Rebels – The Egg Bowl

And it’s time for everyone’s favorite bizarre college football rivalry: Mississippi State football vs. Ole Miss. The Bulldogs vs. the Rebels. It’s time for the Egg Bowl.

Or at least a very brief discussion about the ESPN FPI prediction for the Egg Bowl.

In 2022, Lane Kiffin’s offense was stymied by Zach Arnett’s defense. The Bulldogs were able to shut Kiffin down and they did it with what appeared to be plenty of ease. Time and time again, Arnett’s defense made crucial plays to keep this game within reach and then ultimately carried the Bulldogs to victory.

It’ll be fascinating to see what this matchup looks like for the Rebels and Bulldogs this season as MSU overhauls its offense and Arnett steps into a head coaching role. This game is in Starkville and is always bizarre.

Well, if you take a look at things from a whole season perspective, ESPN FPI predictions. for 2023 aren’t exactly incredible for Mississippi State football.
