As Mike Leach and his Mississippi State football team get set for the 2022 season, they’ll be preparing to host the East Tennessee State Buccaneers. After the Mississippi State Bulldogs face off against the Georgia Bulldogs, Mississippi State will welcome the East Tennessee State Buccaneers to town for what will be MSU’s final home game of the season.

As it turns out, ESPN’s Football Power Index is expecting Mississippi State to come out on top of this game. Out of the 20,000 simulations that ESPN’s mythical computers go through, the Bulldogs are expected to win this contest more often than not.

When I note that ESPN’s FPI is favoring the Mississippi State football team, I’m not necessarily mentioning that in a betting sense like with point spreads and the like, but rather that ESPN’s magical computer math number simulation projections are simply expecting the Mississippi State Bulldogs to win this game against the East Tennessee State Buccaneers.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index and its many projections, Mississippi State should win this game. The Bulldogs get a nice little 99.5% here on this game.
