As Mike Leach and his Mississippi State football team get set for the 2022 season, they’ll be preparing to take on the defending national champs in the Georgia Bulldogs. After the Mississippi State Bulldogs face off against the Auburn Tigers, MSU will get the pleasure of welcoming Georgia to town for the first time since 2010 (Mississippi State has visited Athens three times in that same timeframe, for what that’s worth).
As it turns out, ESPN’s Football Power Index is expecting Georgia to come out on top of this game. Out of the 20,000 simulations that ESPN’s mythical computers go through, Georgia is expected to win this contest more often than not.
When I note that ESPN’s FPI is favoring Georgia, I’m not necessarily mentioning that in a betting sense like with point spreads and the like, but rather that ESPN’s magical computer math number simulation projections are simply expecting the visiting Bulldogs to win this game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
According to ESPN’s Football Power Index and its many projections, Georgia should win this game. The Georgia Bulldogs get a nice little 85.6% here on this game.
