2022 Mississippi State football predictions: ESPN FPI favors Bulldogs vs. Auburn Tigers

As Mike Leach and his Mississippi State football team get set for the 2022 season, they’ll be looking to find another way to beat the Auburn Tigers this year. After the Bulldogs take a trip to Tuscaloosa to face the Alabama Crimson Tide, Mississippi State will host the Auburn Tigers, a team they shocked with a thrilling comeback during the 2021 season.

As it turns out, ESPN’s Football Power Index is expecting the Bulldogs to come out on top of this game. According to the 20,000 simulations that ESPN’s mythical computers go through, Mississippi State is expected to win this contest more often than not.

When I note that ESPN’s FPI is favoring the Crimson Tide, I’m not necessarily mentioning that in a betting sense like with point spreads and the like, but rather that ESPN’s magical computer math number simulation projections are simply expecting the Mississippi State football team to win this game against the Tigers.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index and its many projections, Mississippi State should win this game. The Bulldogs get a nice little 52.3% here on this game. This game could very well go either way.
