The No. 5 Mississippi State Bulldogs are on the road this weekend, set to face off against their toughest opponent so far this season. The Mississippi State baseball team (6-2) will play the No. 20 Long Beach State Dirtbags this evening.
While their nickname is an odd one, this program is a very proud one. Long Beach State has a solid history of producing great college baseball teams and the Dirtbags are certainly looking for an opportunity to take down a prominent SEC program like Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs can’t afford take this series lightly.
There’s no TV broadcast of game one between MSU and Long Beach State. Here’s what you need to know to keep up with the game:

Mike Leach’s offense is starting to work the way it should with Will Rogers leading it
In back-to-back weeks, Will Rogers has completed 86 passes with a 76.1% completion percentage and has thrown for 776 yards and 4 touchdowns. MSU’s young quarterback has given State fans a glimpse at what Leach’s offense is capable of.

Mississippi State’s comeback bid falls short in 2020 Egg Bowl
The result was disappointing, but Mississippi State fans should be proud of how a depleted roster led by young players performed Saturday.

The Egg Bowl is chaotic and ridiculous and fits right in with 2020
Maybe Mike Leach’s friendship with Lane Kiffin will take the edge off the 2020 Egg Bowl. Or maybe because it’s 2020 and it’s the Egg Bowl everything will be a disaster.
