To get the 2023 ReliaQuest Bowl started, the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Illinois Fighting Illini worked together to honor Mike Leach with a nice moment of silence. As Mississippi State’s offense took the field for the first time, the Bulldogs lined up in a formation that is familiar for Leach’s fans and followers.

And the Bulldogs then used the moment to take a delay of game and functionally have a moment of silence to pay tribute to their late head coach. Illinois, clearly in on all of this, declined the penalty. Just a great tip of the hat from both programs to Leach on this.
