Mississippi State breaks into Coaches Poll top 25 after huge win vs. Texas A&M

Following Mississippi State’s massive win over the Texas A&M Aggies, the Bulldogs have found themselves ranked in the coaches poll! Mike Leach and the Bulldogs really needed a strong showing to gain momentum and that’s exactly what happened.

And people are taking notice. When you very solidly beat a ranked opponent even while making a multitude of costly mistakes, people will pay attention.

And that’s what’s happening this week.

That’s a solid spot for Mississippi State right now. Not bad at all! The Bulldogs earned this spot thanks to their dominant win over Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies, but it certainly didn’t hurt that several other teams stumbled and ultimately dropped out of the polls.

Shoutout to the Pittsburgh Panthers, Florida State Seminoles, Minnesota Golden Gophers, and Oklahoma Sooners for falling flat. Of course, we should also be grateful for the teams that managed to beat that bunch. Thanks to them too. That helped a lot.

Here’s what the rankings look like right now:

Think about a game thread, Ethan. The folks who might come over from FWtCT miss those in-game discussions most of all, I think.

Absolutely. I can make that happen. I need to take a look at some of the comment settings, but I don’t see any reason why that can’t happen.
