Another Super Regional in Starkville, another attendance record for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Thanks to the dedication of Mississippi State baseball fans, and any Notre Dame fans who made the trip down to Starkville, Dudy Noble Field beat its own record for having the largest Super Regional Crowd in NCAA History. The previous record of 13,715 was set when Mississippi State hosted Clemson back in 2007.

But the Bulldogs, their fans, and any Notre Dame stragglers shattered that record Saturday afternoon.

A total of 14,385 people showed up to Dudy Noble Field at Polk-Dement Stadium to watch Mississippi State defeat Notre Dame 9-8 in an enthralling game.

That’s a lot of folks.

And, after taking a gander at that graphic which was posted by the official Mississippi State baseball Twitter account, it appears as if the vast majority of the folks present at the game are wearing Maroon and White.

My guess would be that those folks are fans of the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State will look to eliminate the Fighting Irish Sunday at 5 p.m.
