The college baseball postseason has arrived for the Southeastern Conference. The 2021 SEC Baseball Tournament is finally here and the 12 best teams in the conference have gathered together to find out which team will take home the tournament crown this year.
For the first game of the opening round, Kentucky and Florida will get things started. The Wildcats and the Gators are will meet to kick off the 2021 SEC Baseball Tournament.
The Wildcats have struggled throughout the season and will probably have a difficult time getting into the 2021 NCAA baseball tournament unless a miracle happens in Hoover. Meanwhile, the Florida Gators have been one of the better teams in the SEC and the SEC Tournament is simply an opportunity for UF to bolster its resume before the NCAA Tournament begins.

And who will win this match up between the Kentucky Wildcats and the Florida Gators in the 2021 SEC Baseball Tournament?
When these two teams faced each other in Lexington earlier this season, Florida actually lost its the first game of the series. Kentucky was able to beat Florida 7-5 on Thursday, May 6, but the Wildcats weren’t able to keep winning. Kentucky would go on to lose game two 5-8 on Friday, May 7 and then lost game three 2-9 on Saturday, May 8.
Given that Florida was able to win that series earlier this month, and that the Gators gave simply been better all season, it is more than fair to expect Kentucky to fall short in the SEC Tournament. So, if I were betting on this game, my money would be on Florida. But I don’t gamble because I don’t have the money for it and I’m not going to tell you who to gamble on. But my guess is Florida wins.
Still, it is worth noting that it is certainly possible for Kentucky to upset the Gators. UK won game one of that series. Anything can happen.
