The Mississippi State Bulldogs are on the move up in the polls after beating LSU in Death Valley in impressive fashion. The Bulldogs won decisively, beating the Bayou Bengals 44-34.

Now, the Mississippi State football team has earned even more respect from the AP Poll voters.

Last week, the Bulldogs simply earned a few votes and LSU was sitting pretty at No. 6. This week, Mississippi State has vaulted itself to No. 16 while LSU has plummeted down to No. 20.

In total, there are eight SEC Teams ranked in the AP Poll top 25.

Alabama is sitting at No. 2, Florida at No. 3, Georgia at No. 4, Auburn at No. 7, Texas A&M at No. 13, Mississippi State at No. 16, LSU at No. 20, and Tennessee at No. 21.

Assuming Mississippi State’s schedule stays as it is, the Bulldogs have the No. 2, No. 3, No. 7, and No. 13 team in the country remaining on their schedule. But, if State can play up to the level that it did on Saturday against the LSU Tigers, Mississippi State should be able to hold its own in most of those games.

Here’s what the full AP poll looks like this week:

  1. Clemson Tigers
  2. Alabama Crimson Tide
  3. Florida Gators
  4. Georgia Bulldogs
  5. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
