Mississippi State’s batters are still slugging against the Oregon State Beavers. While Brandon Pimentel blew game one open for Mississippi State on Friday, Josh Hatcher was able to simply add to the Bulldogs lead against the Beavers in game two.
However, Hatcher’s home run was definitely needed at the time, just in a different way than Pimentel’s.
Mississippi State entered into the bottom of the 4th inning with a 4-2 lead over Oregon State. But MSU had just given up a pair of runs in the top of the 4th, allowing Oregon State to crawl into a game that the Bulldogs once fully controlled. The Beavers had started to gain momentum.
That’s when Hatcher took that momentum back with a simple swing of his bat.
