After some early bumps in the road, Chris Lemonis and his Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team is off to a relatively decent start this season, and they’re looking to continue their success at the Frisco College Classic.

The Mississippi State baseball team is 6-3 so far on the season and will face Ohio State on Friday, Oklahoma on Saturday, and California on Sunday in the invitational tournament.

MSU has been wildly inconsistent at times and the Bulldogs will need to be solid against the Buckeyes, Sooners, and Golden Bears this weekend.

The Frisco College Classic is (at best) the second-best college classic invitational tournament thing for baseball teams in the state of Texas (shoutout to the Shriner’s College Classic). Basically, four teams from all over the country get together to play some baseball.

Each team will play the other teams once. There’s some bragging rights involved. The concept helps test teams early on as they play some tougher competition than what they may otherwise face.

It’s also good for alumni that may be located in major metropolitan areas.
