Mississippi State football fans sound off after Bulldogs stumble vs. Kentucky Wildcats

Hey. That was miserable. Just utterly awful. Mike Leach and his Mississippi State football team just don’t have much fun when they head up to Lexington, Kentucky. And tonight, that’s certainly true. The Mississippi State Bulldogs were beaten in infuriating fashion in an error-filled contest.

Mississippi State scored a grand total of ONE offensive touchdown against the Kentucky Wildcats. A grand total of one. That will not win many games and it certainly didn’t win anything tonight. Unsurprisingly, Mississippi State fell by a score of 27-17.

This game was ugly.

The Bulldogs couldn’t really cause Will Levis to make many mistakes. MSU really struggled with a less-than-stellar Kentucky offensive line. A few Bulldogs got dinged up. MSU’s offense wasn’t equipped for what Kentucky’s defense had prepared.

Just a mess.

And y’all have thoughts about it.

Just a complete and total mess for MSU tonight.

Okay, look, I’m generally pretty happy with Leach, but I won’t fault folks for feeling this way.

This is a GREAT question. Not the only question, but a great one. Where did that defense that was stout against the run go?

What happened?

So, how are you feeling after this one? I’m not feeling great. We were apparently due for a bad, road loss. It’s the second one we’ve received this season.

8 wins is still theoretically on the table, but I’m not feeling overly optimistic about the matter at this point. Auburn is certainly a bigger mess than MSU is and we’ve got an FCS foe coming up soon too. They’re both unbeaten and more polished than Mississippi State is, but Ole Miss and Georgia have shown some vulnerabilities at times. If the Bulldogs could ever figure out how to play a complete game, then MAYBE State would have a shot at either of those contests.

I’m just not expecting much right now. And that’s frustrating. MSU had a difficult schedule coming into the season, we knew that, but still. State should be better than this. And that’s a problem that Leach and his staff need to address. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
