The Mississippi State Bulldogs have beaten the Texas Longhorns once again! For the third time this season, Mississippi State has found a way to beat the University of Texas.
The first time MSU defeated Texas was all the way back at the beginning of the season in February. The two teams met in a neutral site match up and the Bulldogs defeated the Longhorns in resounding fashion, winning 8-3. MSU next defeated UT in Omaha when the two teams faced each other to get the College World Series started. That game was considerably closer than the first, but MSU still won by a score of 2-1.
The third meeting between the two teams actually came Friday evening. Unfortunately, Mississippi State fell in that contest, dropping that game 8-5.
This time, the Bulldogs needed a walk-off win.
Tanner Leggett and Brayland Skinner were able to get the Bulldogs a solid win over the Longhorns
In the bottom of the 9th with an out and the score tied up at 3-3, Clark was hit by a pitch. MSU made the decision to put Brayland Skinner on first as a pinch runner for Clark and in turn, Skinner scooted on over to 2nd with a steal and Tanner Leggett up to bat.
Leggett then hit a single right into left center field which was enough to get Skinner on home.
Thankfully, the official Mississippi State baseball twitter account has made it possible to watch the Bulldogs end UT’s season over and over again.
