The Mississippi State Bulldogs haven’t lost yet in the 2021 College World Series. Thankfully, the Bulldogs have been able to beat both of their first two opponents, which earned MSU a nice day off to rest up. Now, the two teams who previously lost to the Bulldogs will play each other.

Texas was the first team Mississippi State beat during the 2021 College World Series. It took a CWS record number of strikeouts for the Bulldogs to shut Texas down, but Mississippi State was able to come away with a 2-1 win over the Longhorns thanks to a herculean effort from Will Bednar and Landon Sims.

The Longhorns were bounced down to the elimination bracket and then had to get through the Tennessee Volunteers. But UT did just that. Texas came out on top of Tennessee, winning 8-4.

Virginia gave the Bulldogs a scare, but ultimately was unable to hold on to a 4-0 lead over Mississippi State. MSU came charging back in the eighth inning and defeated the Cavaliers 6-5. MSU needed some home run heroics from Kellum Clark and Tanner Allen, but thankfully that’s what the Bulldogs got.

Virginia and Texas will play Thursday evening. Click here to learn more about how to keep up with the elimination game between the Cavaliers and Longhorns.

How to visit Omaha for the College World Series: Where to eat?

With the College World Series set to start, NCAA baseball fans from all over the country will be headed to Omaha, Nebraska, to watch the country’s eight best teams play each other with the goal of winning a championship. While it’s often overlooked, Omaha is a city that deserves more credit for everything it has to offer.

I actually had the pleasure of living in Omaha for a couple of years and, despite the bitter winters, I thoroughly enjoyed my time living in the Midwest.

Omaha is a wonderful city with a great food scene, plenty of bars (especially sports bars), and a solid amount of nightlife.

There’s always something happening somewhere in town and, thanks to the size and layout of the city, it’s pretty easy to get just about anywhere you need within 20 to 30 minutes.
