As Mike Leach and his Mississippi State football team get set for the 2022 season, they’ll be taking on arguably the best program in college football when they face off against the Alabama Crimson Tide. After the Bulldogs take a trip to Lexington, Kentucky, Mississippi State will go to Tuscaloosa to meet up with Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Very rarely is that a sort of contest that ever ends well for anyone.

As it turns out, ESPN’s Football Power Index is expecting the Crimson Tide to come out on top of this game. Out of the 20,000 simulations that ESPN’s mythical computers go through, Alabama is expected to win this contest more often than not.

When I note that ESPN’s FPI is favoring the Crimson Tide, I’m not necessarily mentioning that in a betting sense like with point spreads and the like, but rather that ESPN’s magical computer math number simulation projections are simply expecting the Alabama to win this game against the Bulldogs.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index and its many projections, Alabama should win this game. The Crimson Tide gets a nice little 92.8% here on this game.
